Andrew (Andy) L. Fitzgerald is an experienced litigator with a background that covers fiduciary, commercial, insurance coverage, trucking accident, aviation accident, personal injury and product liability litigation matters.

Prior to founding Fitzgerald Litigation in 2015, Andy was a partner at Wall Esleeck Babcock in Winston-Salem.  Earlier in his career, he was a shareholder at Strauch, Fitzgerald & Green and practiced at Williams Mullen in Richmond, Virginia and at Womble Carlyle Sandridge & Rice, PLLC in Winston-Salem.

Andy has tried more than 30 cases to verdict and was named one of the “Legal Elite” for Top North Carolina Lawyers under the age of 40 in 2007, 2011, 2012 and 2013.  He has also been named a Super Lawyer in 2015, 2016, and 2017 and has a Martindale-Hubbell AV Preeminent 5.0 out of 5 rating.  He was the Chair of the Young Lawyers Disaster Legal Services Committee of the North Carolina Bar from 2004 to 2007.  Andy has spoken at numerous CLE seminars on a variety of topics including expert testimony, cross-examination and defending truck industry clients.

Andy holds a J.D. degree from the University of Virginia School of Law in Charlottesville, Virginia and received a B.A. degree from Wake Forest University in 1999.  He gained admission to the Virginia State Bar in 2002 and the North Carolina State Bar in 2003 and remains an active member of both.  Andy is also a certified mediator in North Carolina.

Andy and his wife, Abby, are the proud parents of four kids: Jane, George, Hugh and Sylvia.  In his free time he enjoys coaching youth sports.  Andy is also a certified Les Mills™ fitness instructor.
